Frankie and Bennys, Starbucks and Apartments for BP site in Lowestoft near ASDA

An application has been submitted to build a Frankie and Bennys restaurant, a Starbucks drive-thru in Lowestoft. Also included in the plans are a 21 apartment complex with parking spaces. The site is the old BP site opposite ASDA and The Springtide pub.

The two units include 56 customer parking spaces with 4 disabled spaces. Frankie and Bennys is planned for the 4,000 sq/ft Unit 1 and Starbucks for 1,800 sq/ft Unit 2.

The apartment complex is a three-storey block with integrated internal parking for 12 cars and external parking for 9 cars therefore all apartments will have one space each.

Brillant idea , will tidy up the area , hopefully bring more people to Lowestoft, because we need as much as possible if this town is going to survive, Lowestoft needs tidying up no end , we need more leisure facilities, especially up seafront , it’s looks so drab, especially on a wet summer afternoon, what do holidaymakers do with little children, so this is a step in the right direction,

One thought the plans don’t appear to be sympathic to the Conservation order that is in place in kirkley, any new developments should be in the style to compliment the order, even if it is on the fringe of the area in question. not a series modern box’s full of plastic and glass, KFC for example. And where is sufficient parking for the number of apartments. Maybe these apartments are designed as social housing, which isn’t a bad thing however hurding so many people into a small area who don’t necessarily have a vested interest in their home is a recipe for disaster.
